Privacy Policy

This policy covers the GearTrove website and store, run by GearTrove Supply Co. (Austin, TX, United States), referred to here as “GearTrove”, “we” or “us”. If you have a question about this policy, email privacy@geartrove.example.

We only collect what we need to sell you parts that fit and get them to you.

• Order details you give us at checkout: name, email, shipping address, phone number if you add one, and what you bought.
• Payment details go straight to our payment processor. We never see or store your full card number.
• Vehicle details you save in My Garage (year, make, model), so we can check fitment.
• Messages you send us through the contact form, chat, or email, including any vehicle details you include.
• Your email address, if you subscribe to our newsletter.
• Basic technical data our hosting provider logs automatically, such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested. We use it to keep the site running and secure.

Your cart and the vehicles in My Garage are saved in your browser’s local storage, on your device. They aren’t sent to us until you place an order or contact us, and you can clear them at any time by clearing your browser’s site data.

We don’t use advertising cookies, cross-site tracking, or third-party analytics. If that changes, we’ll update this policy first and ask for your consent where the law requires it.

• To process, ship and support your orders, including returns and the fitment guarantee.
• To check whether parts fit the vehicle you saved.
• To answer your questions and give install help.
• To send the newsletter, if you subscribed. Every email has a one-click unsubscribe link.
• To prevent fraud, secure the site, and meet our legal and tax obligations.

We don’t sell your personal information, and we don’t share it for targeted advertising. We share it only with companies that help us run the store, and only what they need:

• Payment processors, to take payment and prevent fraud.
• Shipping carriers, to deliver your order.
• Our email provider, to send order updates and, if you subscribed, the newsletter.
• Our hosting provider, which runs the website.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect our customers or our business, for example to stop fraud. If GearTrove is sold or merged, your information would transfer to the new owner under this policy.

We keep order records for as long as tax and accounting law requires, usually up to seven years. Support messages are kept for up to two years. Newsletter emails are deleted when you unsubscribe, apart from a minimal record that stops us emailing you again.

Depending on where you live (including California, Texas and other US states with privacy laws), you may have the right to:

• Know what personal information we hold about you, and get a copy.
• Correct information that’s wrong.
• Delete your information, unless we have to keep it, for example for tax records.
• Opt out of the sale of personal information or targeted advertising. We do neither.

To use any of these rights, email privacy@geartrove.example. We’ll verify your request using the email on your order and reply within 45 days. You can appeal a decision by replying to our response. We won’t treat you differently for using your rights.

The site is served over HTTPS, payment details are handled by our payment processor, and access to customer data is limited to staff who need it. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your information, we’ll tell you as the law requires.

GearTrove isn’t directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information. If you think a child has given us personal information, email us and we’ll delete it.

When we change this policy we’ll update the date at the top of this page. If a change is significant, we’ll also tell you by email or with a notice on the site before it takes effect.
